Happy Plating was founded in 2004 by three physical chemists as a Spin-Out company of an Austrian research center and acts as a bridge between (applied) research and industrial production.
Founders and Management Team:
Mag. Dr. Wolfgang Hansal, CEF-3
Wolfgang Hansal studied physical chemistry at the University of Vienna, focusing on materials and materials science and electrochemistry. For his dissertation in the field of applied electrochemistry he won the Junior Research Award of the German Society for electroplating and surface treatment 2000.
He worked in two BRITE EURAM projects related to surface processing and characterization, and worked from 2000 to 2004 as a project and work group leader at the Center for Applied electrochemistry in Wiener Neustadt. Mr. Hansal is a "Certified electroplater and Surface Finisher" (CEF-3), a member of the Austrian Chemical Society (Working Group Electrochemistry) and of the "International Society of Electrochemistry ISE ". Together with his wife Selma Hansal he held an international workshop on electro-technology and pulse deposits successfully.
Since 2004 he works at Happy Plating as managing director and chief
scientist. Mr. Hansal is the initiator and organizer of the biannual
international scientific symposium for pulse plating and author of
several scientific publications on pulse separation. End of 2011 his
book an theory and praxis of Pulse Plating will be published by Leutze
Mag. Dr. Selma Hansal, CEF-3
Selma Hansal studied Physical chemistry with emphasis on materials and properties of materials science and electrochemistry at the University of Vienna. She has worked in two BRITE EURAM projects related to surface processing and characterization, and worked from 2000 to 2004 as project manager at the Center for Applied Electrochemistry, Wiener Neustadt, in the work areas of electroplating and surface treatment with a particular focus on applying ultra-thin polymer layers.
She is a "Certified electroplater and Surface Finisher" (CEF-3), a member of the Austrian Chemical Society and of the British 'Institute of Metal Finishing IMF“ and Austria's official representative in "American Electroplater and Surface Finisher Society".
Since the founding of Happy Plating 2004 she works as executive
assistant director of technical and scientific business unit of
Mag. Martina Halmdienst
Martina Halmdienst studied chemistry at the University of Vienna with a focus on physical chemistry and materials chemistry in the minimum period of study. Her thesis dealt with the influence of organic bath additives on the application of pulse plating, a topic that is of central importance for the work of Happy Plating.
From 2001 to 2004 she has participated successfully in several research projects at the Centre for applied electrochemistry in Wiener Neustadt.
Since 2004, as co-founder of the company Happy Plating GmbH, she took
over the technical management of "electroplating" and contributed
significantly to the development projects within the company.
